Yeah that sounds like a good mix. I would think that would be a tough spec to pull off effectively.

The other point i was trying to make is that if there was ever a truely effective pet-centric toon then all the damage should come from its pets (Maybe R7 pets). Not from spell damage like necros.

you cant have pet groups to viable really. if you think zergs well what we call zergs at the end of shadowbane where lagging the server imagine if all those guys had a pet that's basically another meat fodder. pets can only be as strong as a third of a player. so a necro overlord with 3 MM zerglings with him. just turns the game into a zerg and lag fest

Umm I think you are wrong on several fronts about this and I also strongly suspect that you have never played a necro. Am I right ?

lol? With what I said above that group could cause some serious damage if used correctly. You could basically drop your pets on another target while they all called primary on another, since those pets generally will be hitting for more or less 3/4 of a FG on one target, and by 3/4 I mean as if 7 players hitting around 450-500's rolling off you, that's not a small amount of damage. Especially since huntress's can do great dps without a pet, so now imagine how quickly they could drop the healers in a group and move over to the rest with that combo.

edit: And I do mean if they upped the pet levels and the pet buffs.

I think it'd be good to see that kind of group. Let's keep in mind that this proposed overhaul adds nothing new to shadowbane. All of the content and cencepts are all ready built in they are just currently broken beyond all usefulness.

Said group would not be quite as all powerful as imagined though if everyone of those pet sporting toons was required to spend a significant amount of trains to get those uber pets. Each and every toon would be weakened proportionaly to the strength of the pet. How powerful would that hunty be if they had to give up 60 trains to aquire that fully buffed uber pet ? This also does not take into consideration that there is also a built in counter to said group as well. Rangers can dismiss a toon's pet with one cast. Not to mention almost all toons have access to a pet one way or another so there are already counters and balance is maintained.

Exactly! If pets were to be uber then you would have to spend soo many training points that you render yourself almost useless except for the pet/pets. If this were to happen though you would need to beef up pets to R7 and add new pet buffs.

I agree you simply need to increase the pet level some and add some buffs for them. One advantage you could give the pet that would make it usable is to make them invisable on the map screen. Instead of sticking our like a sore thumb announcing your presences to everybody.lol

Huntress pets would still need to trump disc pets though. Ranger Pet buff should stack with disc buffs to give them a slight advantage over others
