? Honestly, I don't know what you guys saw on their forums. I have been out of the loop for some time. But I'm not sure it really matters ( i am curious though ). Regardless, I think it's safe to say that you don't appreciate this exploit because it gives them an unfair advantage. You also downplayed duping, but I think duping is probably the most damaging exploit in the game. It destroys the economy, making straight players absolute irrelevant. It put FC gear that was meant for one person, on every character on everyones accounts in an entire guild, posing an unfair advantage to players who don't have it. And most importantly, the number of cities that have been burned to the ground due to duped gold and bane scrolls has to easily be in the thousands on Mourning alone.

My point is an "unfair advantage" is relative to the person saying it. While you say your exploits weren't one the same level, to someone else it was absolutely devestating. I'd also venture to say that alot of the exploiting that happened was an attempt to counter the exploiting of others. When a whole guild is decked out in duped FC gear, it can be a serious disadvantage. So you dupe it, thinking it evens the odds and it does, for you. But the next guild that you fight doesn't have it, so you evening the odds just made it unfair for the next guild and put them in the same position. It's all relative.

And then when one guild finds out another has X FC, they want it too, so they trade to get the upper hand causing other guilds to do the same, while the only people that are REALLY getting ****ed are the probably 5 - 10% of the players who play straight, who now have absolutely no chance.

Entirely unture. First off, the average city maybe took 5-8ish mil a month for upkeep. You blew the cost waay out of proportion. Also in a span of i think 4-6 months? Anyone remember how long SotD was actually on Malog? Anyway, in that span we had ONLY 6 people running our rolling/mercant cities. We had days were we would pull off upwards of 70MILLON A DAY! When we left malog, in just gold we had 600 million stockpiled. All earned without any knowledge of duping to (I think) the entire sb population. Thats not including the resources, runes, upkeep of 10+ cities and everything else we spent money on.

Anyone no really cares about duping.

I love you Kyler. The unfortunate reality is that some of our big dupers back then had left and went to SotD well before Malog. Some of these same people keycloned as well. I'm not knocking them or calling them out. Many in OPP proper did too. And there is no reason anyone would have stopped. It wasn't a guild mandate to dupe. Hell, I can honestly say I have never duped, personally. I didn't stop people either or reject the stuff they gave me. And even if I had tried to stop people, the only thing that would have stopped was them telling me. People just did it because they wanted more ****.

The billions I was referring to was over a years span, including 2 trainer cities, one that was only for OPP and Emerald Trainers, and multiple individually IC owned rolling cities, as well as a couple r8's and the rest r7's. It is NOT cheap to maintain that many cities as well as roll high end gear for the new, semi daily macro spec groups that would need to be outfitted.

Did everyone forget where the original 110% FC gear came from? A sad, lonely, and about to off himself man named CCR Steve Johnson befriended a large group of socially awkwarded nerds who had never left their cyber environments. As grateful as he was to have finally found friends for the very first time, Steve's new fellowship brought him to produce legendary weapons for his companions in an online video game.

And that's all she wrote.

I am saying, that everything you mentioned is pretty easily accomplished by 5-6 people if you really know what you are doing. We maintained 7 nation tagged cities(including a IC vender town and nation vender town), 1 nation training city. As well as 6 open cities (1 trainer town, 1 rent a forge town, 2 hut cities, and 2 merchatn rolling towns with over 60 venders each). the majority of the gold covering all of that came from a handful of people managing the rolling towns. And while doing that we manged to make an extra (Roughlty) 800mil to 1billion gold in a 4-6 month span. Also, this was including getting everyone a throwing rune, 24con hoods, and a set of wing axes in the very first 1-2months of a server. Getting gold is easy if you know what you are doing.

I never claimed we didnt dupe, and SotD did once have a keyclone group. Said player was banned for like 3-6months until we had a long discussion with him.

What alot of people are talking about is things such as, multiple starting trait runes (aka 3 TAN minos) and things of that sort.

I know nothing about Malog. Mourning had a ton of trainer cities though, so maybe the competition in trainer cities was less on Malog. I don't know. I can't recall any time where I pulled 70mil or anything close to that off Emerald Trainers from one day. And to be fair, I was including rolling gear. I was really just thinking about how much our weekly costs were. We'd have to roll easily 20 - 40 sets of resource gear per week to outfit the new spec groups, depending on activity.

We pulled the 70mil off a hut city called Axis Merchants. That doesnt include income from the shacks of renters. We rolled gear in our vendor cities and transported them to 5 huts in said vendor city.

The point I am trying to make is, give me 3-5 people who know what they are doing and we could easily up keep 30-50 trees a month (Given 3 weeks prep time). A strong merchant can make upwards of 100mil+ a week. Duping isnt needed.
